CALEB IS HOME!! 🎉

And honestly… that alone deserves its own celebration.
The past few weeks have been a total whirlwind, but somehow here we are, already at the last blog of 2025. With Caleb gone for a bit, we truly thought time would drag — but nope. It flew. We’ve been fully wrapped up in holiday mode, bouncing between decorating, baking, shipping orders, and trying to soak in all the little moments that make this season feel special.
This year feels extra meaningful because Daniel’s family is coming down for Christmas for the first time — just not until the weekend. That means Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are staying very intentionally ours. A true throuple holiday. Quiet mornings, no rushing, no hosting stress — just time together before we switch gears and welcome everyone for a weekend full of food, conversation, and chaos (the good kind).
🍪 Holiday Baking Chaos
Since Caleb’s been home, the house has officially turned into a full-blown Christmas bakery. Spritz cookies, seven-layer bars, and a rotating list of other holiday treats have taken over every counter, table, and cooling rack we own. At one point, it genuinely looked like a bake shop exploded in our kitchen — flour on the counters, timers constantly going off, and someone always asking, “Are these done yet?”
It’s been loud, messy, and nonstop — but also comforting in a way that’s hard to explain. This kind of chaos feels familiar and grounding. It’s the kind that makes the house feel full again.
✨ Christmas Lights Gone Wild
Our outdoor decorations have absolutely gone off the rails this year. We’re pretty sure we crossed the 10,000-light mark, and honestly… zero regrets. When the world feels heavy and overwhelming, the least we can do is bring some joy and brightness to our little corner of the neighborhood.
If Christmas lights are a hug, then ours are a full bear hug with a squeeze. Cars slow down, people stop and stare, and that alone makes it worth it.
🎁 Holiday Sale Gratitude
We also want to pause and say a massive thank you to everyone who supported our holiday sales this season. Between Etsy and Shopify, we shipped over 60 packages by hand, and every single order meant more than we can put into words.
Whether you picked up a book, merch, stickers, or a gift for someone you love — thank you. Supporting what we build, create, and share allows us to keep doing this, and it never goes unnoticed.
🌧️ A Rainy California Christmas
Of course, Mother Nature decided to shake things up. We’ve got a big storm rolling in for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day — a full Pineapple Express coming straight from Hawaii. We’re choosing to see it as a little love note from our future home, even if the timing isn’t ideal.
Does it kind of suck that it’s happening on Christmas? Yeah. But as long as we can dry things out enough to plug everything back in before Daniel’s family arrives, we’ll call it a win and move on.

🥂 New Year’s Eve Vibes
For New Year’s Eve, we’re keeping things intentionally simple. No parties. No big plans. Just staying home, resting, and easing into the new year the way we want to continue it.
2026 is about more self-care, more balance, and focusing on what actually matters — our relationship, our family, and the life we’re building together.
📚 A Little Work Update
Before we wrap this up, a quick creative check-in. Book 2 is currently on Chapter 41, and this one has taken a little more time than Book 1. Instead of working from a strict template, we’ve been pulling directly from the timeline of our own lives and letting the story breathe.
It’s deeper, slower in the best way, and really lets you get to know each character on a more personal level.
Thank you for reading, for your patience, and for trusting us with this story.
And don’t forget — Podcast Season 2 is still coming in January 2026. If you haven’t listened to Season 1 yet, now’s the perfect time to binge, laugh, and catch up before we’re back with new episodes in the new year.
❤️ Wrapping Up 2025

As we close out the year, we hope everyone is finding moments of peace, joy, and connection — no matter how you celebrate the holidays. Take care of yourselves, hold your people close, and give yourself permission to slow down when you need it.
We’ll see you in 2026.
And trust us… it’s going to be a good one.
With love,
DCW 💙💚💜
