Post 24: 🎄 Two Dudes, Two Dogs, One Turkey, and a Whole Lot of Christmas Chaos

Like clockwork — HOW has it already been two weeks again?! Time is literally sprinting and honestly, with Caleb being gone, we thought it would drag. Turns out… nope. Daniel and Will have been busy AF around the house getting everything ready for Christmas and the holidays.

And listen… this is the longest the two of them have been together alone without Caleb since the Navy days — and surprisingly?

Zero fights. Zero trauma. Zero “I’m gonna go for a walk” moments.

We are proud to report that Caleb is returning to TWO partners, not “the last man standing.” 😂

🦃 Thanksgiving: A Small, Chill, Perfect Vibe (…Plus a Black Friday Adventure)

Thanksgiving this year? Honestly one of the most relaxing ones either of us has ever had.

It was just dinner for two, two pups, and pure peace. We even took an hour nap before the smoked turkey was done — and if that doesn’t scream calm era, nothing will.

Picture this:

✨ Macy’s parade in the morning

✨ Yard work in the sunshine (80 degrees because California said “holidays where?”)

✨ A cozy night in with good food and zero expectations

10/10. Highly recommend a small Thanksgiving at least once.

But then…

Black Friday came.

And WE became those people.

So here’s the play-by-play:

🕠 5:30 AM — Lowe’s

We pulled up before sunrise like we were about to fight someone for a TV, but no — we were just trying to get one of those damn Black Friday buckets.

We waited 30 minutes, walked the entire store, and found…

absolutely nothing.

Bucketless. Betrayed. Confused.

☕ 6:15 AM — Dutch Bros

Naturally, we pivoted.

We were the FIRST ones there because apparently the universe owed us a win.

Coffee acquired. Spirits healed.

🎨 6:45 AM — Michaels

And THEN?

Victory.

We were literally the first people in line when the doors opened.

We stormed that store like contestants on Supermarket Sweep:

✔ candles

✔ wrapping paper

✔ holiday scents

✔ unnecessary but festive items

We cleaned UP.

Peak holiday chaos. Peak holiday joy.

📦 Holiday Rush: Etsy, Shopify & Shipping Like Elves

The rest of the time has been a blur of holiday decorating and mailing orders like we’re Santa’s gay cousins.

Between Etsy and Shopify, we’ve wrapped and shipped 30+ packages by hand from the house — and that’s not even counting the automatic online orders.

The CYBER25 sale was insane this year.

The support was incredible. We cried. A little. Maybe.

If you missed it — don’t panic. We’re doing the Oh Sh*t, It’s Almost Christmas Sale on all Tres Amigos, Una Vida items until Dec 15.

👉 10% off for the next 10 days.

You’re welcome. 😉

🌱 Garden Update: Hibernation Mode Activated

The garden has officially tucked itself into bed for winter — and honestly, same. The pumpkin patch is now packed with three giant bins of Mills compost, including the entire Thanksgiving turkey carcass. If dirt could talk, ours would be like, “WTF is happening?” But listen… this soil is going to be chef’s kiss next year.

Next up: the pepper bed.

We are building spring dirt like we’re training for the Garden Olympics.

AND — the big moment — the Plumerias are officially put to sleep for winter.

They’re all tucked into their frost boxes like little tropical babies who did NOT sign up for California’s 29 degree nights.

One of our plumerias absolutely showed off this year and grew THREE FEET.

Yes… three.

We literally had to go get new 8-foot boards because she hit her SoCal max height like she’s a supermodel in a floral runway show.

Which also means…

🌺 Looks like a Plumeria Etsy sale is coming this spring, y’all.

Because mama is TOO tall and gonna need to share the love. 😂.

🐔 Chicken Drama: Finally Over

Right before Caleb left, we did the Big Mix™ — little chickens meet the big chickens.

Happy to say the chicken fights have officially ended.

We only had to separate one angry old lady for a day or two, but now everyone is getting along and living their best chicken lives.

And yes… they can start laying eggs literally ANY second.

Our stomachs are ready. 🍳😂

🎅 Countdown to Caleb’s Return: T-36 Hours

We are officially less than 36 hours from Caleb being back, which means these last few hours are about to fly by.

Goals before he walks in the door:

✔️ Get as much Christmas set up as possible

✔️ Clean the entire house

✔️ Look festive but not chaotic

✔️ Prepare emotionally for his instant cookie-baking mania

Because we all know the moment he lands it’s:

“Hi babe, I missed you — now where’s the butter? I’m baking.”

And honestly… thank God. Mmmm cookies. 🍪

❤️ Wrapping It Up

We hope everyone is having a fantastic holiday season so far. We’ll be back with another life update in a couple of weeks — hopefully fully decorated and covered in flour from cookie season.

And if you haven’t listened to Season 1 of our podcast yet…

Ummm, rude?

Go listen now and come back. 😂

If you have listened — THANK YOU.

We cannot wait to share Season 2 with you in 2026.

With Love — DCW 💙💚💜
