Post 22: Life Update - 🎃 Halloween, Early Sunsets & Life in Full Swing

Hope everyone’s had an amazing start to November and that your Halloween was just as wild (or cozy) as you wanted it to be. Around here, it was full-blown chaos — the good kind. We handed out almost 300 candy packets and had around 160+ trick-or-treaters show up. It was nonstop from sundown to 9 PM, and honestly, it felt like running a small festival out of our front yard.
What’s funny is some of our friends in town said they barely got anyone — even the apartment complexes were quiet — so we’re starting to think our house might’ve become a destination for Halloween night. You’ll see cars slow down, doors fly open, and waves of kids come sprinting in groups. It’s honestly hella cool to watch happen.
This year, we went bigger (obviously). We turned our Tunnel of Horror into something closer to a mini haunted house. We pushed the trailer down the driveway, hung sheets to divide spaces, and built themed sections — spiders, witches, skeletons, the works. Nothing in it is “real” (it’s all battery powered and DIY), but you wouldn’t know it from the kids’ reactions. 😂 It’s always fun watching them try to be brave, only to lose their minds halfway through. Check out the pics and videos below — they say it all.
And just like that — it was over. A week of putting it all up, fine-tuning every section, and it only took one day to take down and pack away until 2026. We’re good about wrapping things up fast; once a holiday’s over, we’re DONE. We did manage to sneak in a really good scare for our neighbor while break down. Hopefully, we only have a couple more Halloweens left here on the mainland anyway — something tells us trick-or-treaters will be hard to come by once we’re in the jungle. 🌴
Now we’re rolling into November, which means the dreaded daylight savings time shift — when the sun taps out before 5 PM and everyone gets collectively grumpy. It’s also the season for us to start prepping for frost and hauling out the Plumeria boxes. We’re actually planning to put up the big greenhouse this weekend but leave the windows open for airflow — just in case one of those 30-degree nights sneaks up. Those plants are basically our babies, and we’ll do whatever it takes to keep them happy.
This weekend’s also our last one all together until mid-December. 😭 Caleb’s heading back to Texas for some family stuff, so it’ll be Daniel and Will holding down the fort for Thanksgiving and most of November. It’s going to feel weird for sure, but we’ll try to keep things fun — maybe crank out a few new Reels to keep Instagram interesting while he’s gone. If you see a good trend, DM us and we’ll try it (you know we’ll make it chaotic).
Speaking of chaos — the baby chickens are almost ready to join the big girls. Integration weekend is coming! It’s going to be loud, messy, and full of tiny chicken attitude, but they’re officially big enough now to hold their own. We feel bad that they’re still sleeping on the ground since they’re too big for their stick roost, so it’s time to let them spread their wings (literally). Wish us luck — the pecking order drama is real. 🐓
Book 2 is coming along so well. Since Caleb’s leaving soon and that’ll delay proofing, we’re going to officially push the release to early 2026, hopefully January. We’re currently on chapter 36, and it’s turning into such a deep, emotional dive into throuple life — way more layered and personal than Book 1. You’ll get to know each character more intimately, see the daily stuff that keeps love messy but real, and feel that growth that happens when three people decide to truly build a life together.
If you haven’t grabbed Book 1 yet, now’s your time! We’ve got two big holiday sales coming up:
📅 Nov 24 – Dec 2: 20% off everything on Etsy & Shopify (books, hats, hoodies, stickers — all of it).
📅 Dec 3 – Dec 9: Kindle sale for just $1.99 in the U.S. and U.K.
These will be the last two sales for Book 1 before Book 2 launches, so grab it, snuggle up, and start reading — especially with how chilly it’s getting. We’ve gotten such amazing feedback lately, and it seriously means the world. Knowing people are connecting with it keeps us motivated every single day.
Our podcast is also cruising along Ep 8 just dropped today! If you haven't listened it's all about our Birth Charts & Will almost peed his pants laughing during this one. We’ll be wrapping up Season 1 later this month, with Episode 10 streaming November 21, 2025. Then we’re taking a little holiday break until mid-January 2026, when Season 2 will officially kick off.

If you haven’t sent in your questions or topic ideas yet, now’s the time! You can DM us on Instagram or hit up ThroupleTea.com to drop suggestions. The podcast is really starting to grow across all the streaming platforms — and that’s all thanks to you. 🥹 Keep listening, sharing, and spreading the word. Let’s keep that momentum rolling!
As we close out spooky season and head into the holidays, we just want to say thank you — for reading, listening, watching, and being part of our crazy corner of the internet. We hope everyone has a wonderful few weeks ahead, even if life feels weird or heavy right now. Remember: you’re never alone going through it all.
We’ll get through this together — with love, laughter, and a little chaos. Always. 💛
With love,
DCW 💙💚💜
